Malaysia Halal Maps

As I wrote in my last post, I will write some details about my Final Year Project (FYP) in this post. FYI, I’m not taking FYP2 yet for this semester. I supposed to finish my study and leave UTP by this September. However, I just like to extend one semester of my study (until mid of January 2012). So, I’ll be taking FYP2 next semester together with just another subject; Malaysian Studies.

When I’m proposed the title for my FYP, my supervisor was not convince with the project. Hence, he proposed to me to proceed with a new title which is my current project: Map Mashup for Halal Industry in Malaysia. So, this is how I start working on my FYP.

The objective of this project is to build a platform so that the suppliers, manufacturers, and consumers can interact with each other in an easier way via a standard platform. The current directory listing provided by JAKIM and HDC is inconvenient to the user. So, by plotting data straight onto the map will be much more easier for users to analyze the data.

The highest Joomla! Day 2011 venue ever!

joomla-day-logo

Last weekend, I got an opportunity to attend an event called Joomla! Day Malaysia 2011 at Microsoft Auditorium, Level 29, Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC). I guest this is the highest Joomla! Day in the world!

Thanks to MyHarapan for sponsoring us (Pisyek, Ieyra, Amirul, Ryzal, Rofans). Without you, we may not make there. Hehehe.

We travelled from UTP to KL on Friday night and stay with my cousin at Bandar Baru Bangi. On the Saturday morning, we went to KLCC by KTM. Because of the KTM was very damn slow, we arrived at KLCC a bit late and there was no Joomla! t-shirt with S size left. Poor me. Huhuhu. :(

The comments

Having an event at KLCC is a good thing actually. People can easily come because the venue is well-known. However, I got few difficulties in understanding some of the speakers while they’re presenting because of their slang. The food was ok. But the WiFi was so-so. Very unstable. zzzzzz

Clients From Hell

I do believe that lots of other freelancers, developers, and designers have faced various type of clients. I maybe just working with few clients, not as much as others. However, the clients from hell is a type of client which most of us don’t want to work with.

clients-from-hell-picture

Personally, I like these 10 quotes from Clients From Hell site. Basically, there is a collection of anonymously contributed client horror stories from designers on the site.
